The first festival took place in Lystanlægget at Friluftsscenen in Holstebro Centrum.

It was in August after a hard covid19 lockdown.

We reduced audiences and we invited artists and local groups from Holstebro an to share their work alongside with the kids of Ildflueakademiet from Trekanten and Cirkusskole from Idom.

Ildfluefest provided a space to meet and generated artistic exchanges. The aim was to emphasise and make visible the artistic skills of the children and, that way, have these little “fireflies” shine their lights on the whole city.

Day 1

Parade at Holstebro center

Ikarus Stage Arts performed INVASION, a lively parade by a herd of cheerful and colourful unicorns through the main street of Holstebro.

Trekanten
During Ildfluefest the children presented the theatrical installation “Traces of the world” in Trivselshuset. The participants of Ildflueakademiet built a giant “world map” as a stage where they recreated the path from their families’ original countries until their arrival in Denmark. During three months we encouraged each participant to place themselves as the protagonists of their life journey, allowing them to turn their feelings into a constructive narration.

Day 2

Lystanlægget

Ikarus Stage Arts performed a parade in the main entry of Lystanlægget to welcome people, and invite them the to meet up in the friluftsscenen.
